Eli Roth's 'Borderlands' Shares Official Look

This year we will have the live-action release in theaters Borderlandsan adaptation of the popular video game, which is directed and co-written by Eli Roth.

The study Lionsgate released a new look at the main cast, made up of Cate Blanchett (Warehouse) como Lilith, Kevin Hart (Lift, Me Time) as Roland, Florian Munteanu (Creed III) como war, Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie, Ahsoka) as Tiny Tina, Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once, Halloween) like Tannis, and Jack Black (The Super Mario Bros. Movie) lending his voice to Claptrap.

Other cast members include Gina Gershon (Black Friday, Chucky) as Moxxi, Edgar Ramirez (Dr. Death, Florida Man), Janina Gavankar (The Morning Show, The Way Back), Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story, Call Me Kat), Charles Babalola (The Outlaws, Black Mirror), Benjamin Byron Davis (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Steven Boyer (WeCrashed, Love Life), Ryann Redmond (A Good Person, Heels), y Haley Bennett (The Girl on the Train, Hillbilly Elegy).

SYNOPSIS:

“In the film Lilith (Blanchett), an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet, Pandora, to find the missing daughter of the most powerful son of a bitch in the universe, Atlas (Ramirez). Lilith forms an alliance with an unexpected team: Roland (Hart), a former elite mercenary, now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina (Greenblatt), a wild preteen demolitionist; Krieg (Munteanu), Tina's muscular and rhetorical protector; Tannis (Curtis), the scientist with a weak grip on sanity; and Claptrap (Black), a persistently wise robot. These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe may be in their hands, but they will fight for something more: each other.”

Ari Arad and Erik Feig are producers, with K. Blaine Johnston, Lucy Kitada, Tim Miller, Randy Pitchford, Louise Rosner, Ethan Smith, Christopher Woodrow, Emmy Yu and Strauss Zelnick serving as executive producers.

Borderlands is a saga of action and first-person shooter video games set in space western and fantasy science fiction settings, developed by Gearbox Software for multiple platforms. It consists of four games, the first of which was released in 2009. Its sense of humor plays an undoubted role in its critical and commercial success. It has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.

Lionsgate will premiere Borderlands in theaters August 9, 2024.
