The most recent news emerges precisely from the panel with Leterrier, who revealed to the attendees at the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City, details about the start of production (via Collider):

“It's happening. It's happening very, very soon. I can film a little horror movie this summer. I will finish my horror movie on September 15 and start Fast on September 16.”

Also addressed were Tyrese Gibson's recent comments, where he suggested that the filming of the latest Fast & Furious would occur in early 2025. Leterrier told the audience:

“Tyrese is always right. Check out his Instagram!

So in September, would it be pre-production, not filming? Leterrier clarified:

“It will be filmed early next year and released in 2026, which will be exactly on that day, 25 years since the first one came out.”

Universal Pictures has not yet confirmed the exact release date of Fast 11. Summer of 2026? We'll see.

The director also shared some details about what we can see in the final installment, returning to its original setting of Los Angeles, returning to the roots of the saga, the place where it all began in 2001.

“It's exactly that. That's what we want to do. “We want to bring him back home and we still have a great journey to tell.”

When asked if he knew how the franchise would conclude, he simply said: “Yeah”.
