Netflix revealed this morning a new trailer for the action rom-com Hit Man from the director Richard Linklaterstarring Glen Powell y Adria Arjonaand screenplay by Linklater and Powell.

The plot presents Powell as a man who poses as a hitman for undercover police operations, while the trailer begins with the question of Powell's status as a hitman.

Later, the scene focuses on the protagonist, as he sits with his cat at home, saying, “My name is Gary Johnson and I am a fake hitman.” We also get to see Powell in multiple disguises as undercover characters and sets up how Gary Johnson attempts to navigate his secret life with his romantic escapades.

We have to say that the film looks promising, with special attention to Powell with a charismatic and entertaining character, and Arjona with an aura of mystery. Powell's career has been on the rise in recent years. After playing a supporting role in Top Gun: Maverickthe actor had an opportunity as a leading man in the successful rom-com Anyone But You which ended its run in theaters in recent weeks, and now you can find it in Max. In addition to Hit Manthis summer we will see it in Twisterssequel to the disaster film classic, Twister.

Arjona, for his part, has just been part of the cast of the series Andorof the universe Star Wars. We previously saw her in the series Good Omens e Irma Vephe also starred in the remake Father of the Bride.

SYNOPSIS

“Inspired by an incredible true story, a puritanical professor discovers his hidden talent as a fake hitman. “He finds his match in a client who steals his heart and ignites a powder keg of deception, delight, and confused identities.”

The rest of the cast is made up Straight line, Austin Amelio, Molly Bernard, Mike Marnoffy Evan Holtzman.

Netflix will grant you Hit Man a limited release in select theaters in the United States on May 24, prior to its worldwide release on the streamer on June 7, 2024.
