The acclaimed Frankenstein of Guillermo del Toro y Netflixhas been chosen to be added to the prestigious Criterion Collection.
The Criterion Collection publishes classic and contemporary films from around the world in editions that offer the highest technical quality, plus additional material including interviews and film reports.
The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards, taking home three of them for best costume design, best production design, and best hair and makeup. This is Del Toro's dream project, which he worked on for decades until creating his reinterpretation of Mary Shelley's classic, and which he describes as “The culmination of a journey that occupied most of my life. Monsters have become my personal belief system. There are traces of Frankenstein in my films.”
