Hayley Atwell will return as Agent Carter in 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Avengers: Doomsday, fifth installment of the Avengers continues to sign familiar faces.

According to Deadline reports, it is expected that Hayley Atwell reprise her role as Agent Carter in the film.

Atwell debuted the character in the MCU in Captain America: The First Avengerand he returned to it on numerous occasions in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Avengers: Endgame, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessand the series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D y Agent Carter.

The actress joins the returns of Chris Evans and of Robert Downey Jr.who will be playing the Doctor Doom. The role that Evans will play is unknown if it will be as Steve Rogers/Captain America, to whom he said goodbye in Endgame (2019). From that moment on, the role as Captain America was assumed by Anthony Mackie.

On Evans' return, the source said: “Evans will be involved in some capacity, but the exact scope and nature of his role is unknown.”

Anthony Russo y Joe Russo, Russo Brothersthe directors will be the fifth and sixth installment of the Avengers, Avengers: Doomsday y Avengers: Secret Warscon Stephen McFeely (Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) as the screenwriter.

The Russos directed MCU installments like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity Wary Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will produce the feature film.

The filming of Avengers: Doomsday It is planned to start in spring 2025.

Marvel Studios will release the long-awaited sequel May 1, 2026 in cinemas around the world.

Atwell's most recent film roles include Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Paddington in Peruand the series Heartstopper. Next year we will see her reprising her role as Grace in the sequel Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning which will be released in theaters in May.
