Making homemade yogurt is so easy, plus it’s a healthier alternative than many industrialized versions!
1 liter of whole milk
1 pot of natural yogurt
- Put the whole milk in a pan, take it to the low fire and let it reach the temperature between 80ºC and 90ºC.
Then reduce the heat to minimum and maintain this temperature for about 5 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let cool.
- Monitor the milk until it reaches approximately 46ºC, the ideal temperature for the yogurt bacteria to proliferate.
Add the natural yogurt and mix well.
Cover the pan and cover it with a clean, thick cloth.
- Place inside the oven off for approximately 6 to 12 hours, or overnight.
Transfer to the fridge if you prefer and the plain yogurt is ready for consumption.
