Michael Sarnoskidirector of Pig and the next one to be released, A Quiet Place: Day One, already has his next project in his sights. It is a dark version of the Robin Hood story, which will be titled The Death of Robin Hoodand who has already signed Hugh Jackman (Logan, Deadpool & Wolverine) y Jodie Comer (Killing Eve, The Bikeriders) in leading roles.

Sarnoski will be the writer and director of the project. According to Deadline reports, the project will be brought as a high-profile project to the Cannes market this May.

The media reports:

“The film is a darker reinvention of the classic Robin Hood tale. Set in his time, the film will see the main character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, a battle-worn loner who finds himself seriously injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman who offers him a chance at salvation. ”

Filming will begin in February 2025.

Lyrical Media will fully finance the feature film. Aaron RyderArrival, The Prestige), Andrew Swett, Alexander Black produce the feature film, with Jon Rosenberg Natalie Sellers, Rama Gottumukkala, Sarnoski and Jackman serving as executive producers.

Ryder and Swett revealed in a press release:

“This isn't the Robin Hood story we all know. Instead, Michael has created something much more grounded and visceral. Thanks to Alexander Black and our friends at Lyrical along with Rama and Michael, the world will love seeing Hugh and Jodie together in this epic.”

Sarnoski added:

“It has been an incredible opportunity to reinvent and innovate the story we all know of Robin Hood. It was essential to get the perfect cast to transform the script on screen. I couldn't be more excited and confident in Hugh and Jodie to bring this Robin Hood story to life. a powerful and meaningful way.”
