the biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebodyabout the life of the iconic Whitney Houstonwas released in US theaters in recent days, so the studio Sony Pictures continues releasing promotional material.

In addition to a featurette in which we saw how music producer Clive Davis (played by Stanley Tucci) was talking to Whitney Houston (played by Naomi Ackie) about “I Will Always Love You”, Sony releases a new clip in which we see a scene again with Davis and Houston, in which they throw ideas about what would later become the single “How Will I Know”.

The film is directed by Kasi Lemmons (Harriet, Eve’s Bayou, Black Nativity), and screenplay by the Oscar nominee, Anthony McCarten (Darkest Hour, The Two Popes, The Theory of Everything, Bohemian Rhapsody).

Ackie has been part of productions such as the series The End of the F***ing World, Master of Noneand movies like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, The Scoreand the next one to be released Pussy Island.

The biopic comes to the big screen ten years after Houston’s unfortunate death, with a plot that will take audiences to relive some of her most legendary and tragic moments, in front of and behind the public eye.

“I Wanna Dance with Somebody is an upcoming feature film about the late musical icon, Whitney Houston. Naomi Ackie stars as Whitney Houston in the musical biopic, which is based on the epic life and music of the iconic singer. Directed by Kasi Lemmons and written by Academy Award nominee Anthony McCarten, the film will take audiences on an emotional and energetic journey through the career and music of Houston”.

This 2022 marked ten years since her unfortunate death, on February 11, 2012, at the age of 48, having been found unconscious in the bathtub at a Beverly Hills hotel, where she was to be part of the Grammy Award. The official cause of death, according to an autopsy performed by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, was attributed to accidental drowning with factors including “the effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use,” with inhaled cocaine use being low. before his death, with other drugs reported in toxicology as Benadryl, Xanax, cannabis, and Flexiril.
