One of the projects that emerged from Sundance 2024 as one of the most acclaimed is the arthouse slasher In a Violent Nature from the screenwriter and director Chris Nash (The ABCs of Death 2), the study IFC Films and the streamer Shudder.

The marketing campaign for the horror project, which started at the end of January with a teaser trailer, continues today with the release of the first full trailer! which allows the audience to have a better look at the madness that will be unleashed in theaters in a few more weeks.

IFC Films will release In a Violent Nature in theaters on May 31, 2024 (USA). In Mexico and the rest of Latin America we hope to know its distributor and launch.

The plot revolves around “The enigmatic resurrection, rampage and retribution of an undead monster in a remote desert unleashes an iconic new killer.”

One of the first characteristics that draw attention to this project is that it is told from the point of view of the murderer.

“When a reliquary is removed from a collapsed fire tower in the woods that entombs Johnny's rotting corpse, a vengeful spirit spurred by a horrible crime that occurred 60 years ago, resurrects his body and sets out to recover it. The undead golem zeroes in on the group of vacationing teenagers responsible for the theft and proceeds to methodically slaughter them one by one in its mission to recover it, along with anyone who stands in its way.”

The cast is headed by Ry Barrett, Andrea Pavlovic, Cameron Love, Reece Presley, Liam Leone, Charlotte Creaghan, Lea Rose Sebastianis, Sam Roulston, Alexander Oliver y Lauren Taylor.

Previously, Samuel Zimmerman, VP of programming at Shudder, told the media:

“In a Violent Nature is a tremendous new slasher. We're thrilled for you to meet Johnny, whose reign of terror honors the iconic subgenre while taking audiences on a unique and brutal new journey within it. “Chris Nash’s bold perspective represents the best of Shudder, bridging the traditions of the genre with its exciting next steps.”
