indigo the End «Natsume» – I've gotten to know a lot of great Japanese bands over the last 6 years. One of my absolute Japanese heroes is definitely Enon Kawatani – the multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer is a real jack of all trades, as he has 4 active and very successful bands for which he also writes the music. And all 4 are very good – like Indigo La End, his first band, which is kind of like his “indie rock” group. They have just released their new, ninth album “満ちた紫”, from which the wonderful single “Natsume” comes. I like the underlying melancholy that always pervades ilE songs.
Attic Ocean «Sun» – The still very young shoegaze combo Attic Ocean comes from Germany, which I actually saw live as the opening act for Hitsujibungaku in Berlin. Even though shoegaze is no longer my top priority, I still like the sound. Especially when it is performed as stylishly as in Attic Ocean's new single, which can be found on the current EP “I Promise I'll Try Every Day”.
