Sony Pictures released the first trailer – and in a Red Band version – of the R-Rated comedy, No Hard Feelingswhich has a leading role Jennifer Lawrencein which marks his first role in the comedy genre proper.

It seems hard to believe that this is her first role in this genre for the Oscar winner, especially when we take into consideration that Lawrence behaves in a naturally funny way during her appearances on late nights or talk shows, and interviews. But now we can finally see it, and surely enjoy it, in a comedy film.

In the film, Lawrence plays Maddie, a woman who responds to a Craigslist ad from two desperate and overprotective parents who want their 19-year-old son, Percy, to date a woman before he goes off to college.

The trailer takes us to see Maddie approaching the awkward Percy at a dog adoption center and asking “Do you mind if I touch your wiener?”, before revealing that he is holding a dachshund dachshund. On the verge of losing her childhood home, Maddie resorts to all desperate efforts to comply with her parents’ questionable request to sleep with Percy. She dives naked into the sea, fills it with Long Island iced tea and, in a hilarious scene, she kidnaps him in a van before the boy pepper-sprays her in the face thinking he’s in danger.

In addition to Lawrence, the cast is made up of Andrew Barth Feldman, Matthew Broderick, Laura Benanti, Natalie Morales, Hasan Minhaj, Kyle Mooney, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, y Scott MacArthur.

Gene Stupnitsky directs the feature film with a script co-written with John Phillips (Dirty Grandpa). Stupnitsky gave us the hilarious coming-of-age comedy, Good Boys (2019) starring Jacob Tremblay. Previously, she took over Bad Teacher (2011), y Year One (2009).

The film’s producers are Lawrence, Alex Saks, Naomi Odenkirk, Marc Provissiero, and Justine Ciarrochi. With executive producers John Phillips, and Kerry Orent.

Sony will premiere No Hard Feelings in theaters June 23, 2023. In our market it is called do me the favor.
