Lillies and Remains «Neon Lights» – I have a weakness for two things: 80s wave sounds, and for a while now also Japanese bands. When both come together, you probably say “it’s a match”. 🙂 Lillies and Remains are an indie band that has been around for about 10 years and – unusual for Japanese – play English-language synth/wave/post-punk music. Sometimes they sound like harsh Interpol, sometimes, like the new single, also reminds me of Scandinavian bands from the 00s. Very great music I think.
The Primitives «I Won’t Care» – also retro, but in a different way, The Primitives, to whom I have been loyal for over 25 years now and who have been releasing cool new songs since their comeback several years ago – see the current single.
