Mia Goth in trouble in preview of the slasher 'MaXXXine'

We are less than a month away from the theatrical release of MaXXXinethe conclusion of the filmmaker's slasher trilogy You Westwhich is why the study A24 continues to prepare the audience with more promotional material from the marketing campaign.

The most recent is a look at the official image in which we see the protagonist, Mia Goth in serious trouble that has led her to carry a gun. Will she be part of a scene she's shooting for the movie within the movie, or will she be taking on the stalker Night Stalker?

This third installment, sequel to X y Pearlfeatures Goth's return as 'final girl' Maxine Minx, one of the two roles she played in X.

We remind you that the plot of X was set in the '70s, followed an amateur porn crew who move to a remote farm to pretend to secretly film a movie, when they are attacked by an elderly couple who own the place, Pearl (also played by Goth), and Howard.

The sequel as a prequel, Pearlwas secretly filmed consecutively with Xsetting us in the year 1918, telling the origin story of the villainous Pearl, who, like Maxine, was obsessed with becoming a movie star, and in West's words, “about someone who aspires to have the life that the movies seem like [mostrar]and how that would affect someone.”

For its part, MaXXXinethe closing of the trilogy, sets its plot in the year 1985, six years after the events of X. The new sequel is a whodunit slasher.

West previously told about MaXXXine:

“Maxine is looking to make 'real movies'. She finally gets her big break from Elizabeth Bender (Elizabeth Debicki), a prominent filmmaker who made an independent horror hit called The Puritan. The sequel, The Puritan II, is now being made as a major studio project, and Bender decides to take a risk by casting a porn actress, Maxine, in a lead role alongside another actress. The forces surrounding Maxine threaten to shatter her dreams of stardom. Kevin Bacon he joins in as a private investigator hired by someone quite powerful to track her down. The film also has as its backdrop Richard Ramirez, also known as the “Night Stalker” serial killer who was active in California between 1984 and 1985. A24 set the theatrical release of MaXXXine for July 5, 2024. Universal Pictures will distribute it in theaters throughout Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
