Monica Barbaro Joins 'Ocean's Eleven' Prequel Cast

The prequel to the saga Ocean’s Eleven of Warner Bros. has added a new addition to its cast.

This is the Oscar-nominated actress, Monica Barbaro (A Completely Unknown), who is joining a cast led by Margot Robbie (Barbie, Wuthering Heights), y Bradley Cooper (A Star is Born, Guardians of the Galaxy), con Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent, Narcos) in an antagonistic role (via Deadline).

Cooper will also be the writer and director of the prequel, and will produce it alongside Robbie with their company LuckyChap. Cooper wrote the screenplay, based on the characters created by George Clayton Johnson and Jack Golden Russell. A previous draft of the script was written by Carrie Solomon.

Filming is expected to begin at the end of July in Paris, before moving to the south of France.

After playing a revelation role in the box office hit Top Gun: Maverick (2022), Barbaro was nominated for an Oscar in 2025 for the biopic A Complete Unknownwhere she played folk singer and activist Joan Baez. Right now he has just finished a successful season in Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the National Theater in London. His next film projects include the rom-com One Night Only by Will Gluck and Universal Pictures, and Artificial by Luca Guadagnino and NEON.

The franchise has focused its plot on Danny Ocean (Geroge Clooney) and his friends, who carried out elaborate robberies in different parts of the world. Clooney and the rest of the protagonists of these stories will not return to the sequel.

With plot details yet to be known, it has been reported that The story will take place in Europe in the 60s.specifically during the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix, and will focus on the parents of Danny (Clooney) and Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock).

During CinemaCon 2026, Robbie teased the audience:

“Before Danny Ocean set foot in Las Vegas, two masterminds taught him everything he knows…his parents”.

It is understood that Robbie and Cooper play the parents.

The film will be produced by LuckyChapRobbie's production company, with Tom Ackerley, Michelle Graham, Jay Roach, and Robbie producing, and executive producing Josey McNamara, Olivia Milch, and Gary Ross.
