The film company NEON prepares the release of the horror thriller Cuckoofrom the screenwriter and director Tilman Singera project that has had to postpone its release several times over the course of three years, but is finally getting a definitive date.

NEON announced that Cuckoo will be released in theaters on May 3, 2024 (via Bloody Disgusting).

The film stars Hunter Schaferwho gained notoriety from his performance in the HBO series, Euphoria. They accompany him in the cast, Dan Stevens (Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, The Guest), Jessica Henwick (The Matrix Resurrections), Marton Csokás (The Equalizer), Greta Fernandez (A Thief’s Daughter) y Jan Bluthard (Luz).

At one point this would be the film in charge of marking Schafer's film debut, however changes in the release date led to his film debut being marked by the prequel to Hunger Gamestitled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakesreleased on the big screen in November 2023.

Specific details about the plot have not been released. Filming took place in Germany in 35 mm format.

Markus Halberschmidt, Josh Rosenbaum, Maria Tsigka, Ken Kao, Thor Bradwell and Ben Rimmer are the producers of the feature film, while Tom Quinn, Jeff Deutchman, Emily Thomas, Ryan Friscia are the executive producers. FICTION PARK and Waypoint Entertainment are the production companies.

Paul Faltz is the director of photography, with Dario Mendez Acosta in charge of production design. Simon Waskow y Henning Hein they make up the original soundtrack and sound engineer, respectively.

Schafer became one of the revelations of the small screen for her performance as Jules Vaughn in the hit HBO series, Euphoriain which he also got involved by co-producing and scripting one of its episodes.

NEON is the distribution company responsible for I, Tonyathe Oscar winner Parasitethe Colombian film monkeys, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Ingrid Goes West, The Lodge, Palm Springs, The Killing of Two Lovers, Ammonite, Pigand the most anticipated horror movie of 2024, Longlegs.
