The AfD is getting stronger, the BSW wanted to delete the funding for some Leipzig music clubs and the CDU recently called for NGO's funding tax examination-the political and social set-up in Germany is increasingly shifting to the right. A national alliance from club culture does not want to accept it and will organize several soli parties in the next few months. An appointment is also in Leipzig.
Never // Now was founded in February – shortly after the CDU applied for a review of the “political neutrality” of state -funded organized organized organized in the Bundestag. And shortly after the AfD was able to grow again in the federal elections. This cluster fuck of events was for several cultural workers, organizers: inside and activist: Inside from different corners of the country, the decisive impulse to do something about the progressive erosion of democratic and civil society foundations. With our own craft, as they tell us-and their craft is organizing various club events.
“Behind Never // Now there is a powerful mix of anger, hope and the firm belief that music and club culture can do more than a good night,” says the organization team. This sees itself as an open association of committed people from the club and festival context. Open means: more likes to participate and bring in their ideas and energy.
Germany Soli-Parts
In the coming months, the Never // Now-Crew will organize several solo parties in major German cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, Dresden and Cologne-on a voluntary basis and with full support from the clubs and acts involved. On April 18, Never // Now also stops in Leipzig for a ten-hour party in the Elipamanoke-together with the entropy festival, which will take place in August in Niedergörsdorf with a similar political claim.
The goal of the NEVER // NOW parties is multi-layered: On the one hand, donations for solidary clubs and projects, on the other hand, also enable exchange for active communities and sensitize as many people as possible to the current challenges of civil society actors: inside and the increasing political polarization.

In Leipzig, for example, the evening starts with the screening of the film “Perspective East”, which presents the ideas and visions of 30 civilian projects in Saxony, Thuringia, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Then are with Speak*Speak, Lisa Luke, Lucy Laser, Katy Caos, Danish, Love Blood & Shaw Glenn, DJ Rotk To experience DJs and drag acts from various genres and cities in the Eli.
100 percent of the income is donated – Never // now supports the polylux e. V., an association that financially supports and advises alternative and left projects in East German small towns. The association does an enormously important work here because, especially in rural regions, anti -fascist work is much more difficult, more dangerous and necessary than in the big cities.
Never // now does not see itself as a new movement – the movement is already there, says the crew. With “bass A100” or “bass for hate” there are already other initiatives with a similar commitment-and of course, local soli parties are also nothing new.
However, with its Germany -wide presence, Never // now has the chance to make club culture in a larger framework for democratic commitment and for a strong attitude against the right to emphasize. Together with you by visiting the parties and contributing a part that progressive-social projects can continue.
Thanks thanks for the use!
