The highly requested film adaptation of the popular horror video game Five Nights at Freddy’sfrom the screenwriter and director Emma Tammi (The Wind) will be released in theaters around the world in October 2023, which is why Universal Pictures y Blumhouse They continue to pamper the audience by releasing more promotional material.

Last April the marketing campaign started with the first looks at the feature film, the most recent being a handful of images focused on the actual figures created as animatronicswho were brought to life by Jim Henson’s Creature Shopdivision of The Jim Henson Company, in charge of making special and visual effects (the company is owned by Jim Henson, the creator of The Muppets).

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

“Five Nights at Freddy’s follows a troubled security guard as he starts working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. As he spends his first night on the job, he realizes that the night shift won’t be so easy to get through. The objective is Try to survive five nights as a night security guard at the aforementioned pizzeria, and avoid being caught by one of the animatronics of the establishment that come to life in a place very similar to Chuck E. Cheese.”

The cast is headed by Josh Hutcherson (saga Hunger Games) playing security guard Mike Schmidt, Matthew Lillard (Scream, Thir13en Ghosts), Elizabeth Lail (You, Countdown), Mary Stuart Masterson (Some Kind of Wonderful, Daniel Isn’t Real) as the villain, Piper Rubio (How We Roll) plays Abby, Mike Schmidt’s little sister, and Kat Conner Sterling (The Gifted, 9-1-1, The Resident).

After acquiring the rights in 2015, Blumhouse officially launched the adaptation in February 2018, with Scott Cawthoncreator of the game, working side by side in the development of the film as one of the screenwriters. Tammi, Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback wrote the screenplay.

Blumhouse is producing the feature film, in association with Striker Entertainment. Cawthon and Jason Blum are the producers, with Russell Binder as executive producer.

Universal Pictures set the premiere of FNAF in theaters for October 26 in Mexico/all of Latin America, and October 27 in the US (where it will also premiere simultaneously on Peacock).
