The sequel by Matt Reevesofficially got underway in April 2022, with Reeves returning as director and co-writer with Mattson Tomlin. They both co-wrote the first installment.
Little is known about the plot of the sequel beyond the fact that, “will take audiences back to Gotham”, and? will have a winter settingconfirmed by Reeves via camera test footage shared by the filmmaker this week.

The argument of The Batman focused on the Dark Knight's beginnings as he evolves into an experienced vigilante, uncovering corruption in Gotham City and learning more about his billionaire family's past.
The Batman (2022) became a box office success, accumulate more than $770 million in the global box officeand earn the title as the third highest-grossing film in times of pandemic, after its premiere in March 2022.
WB plans to theatrical release of The Batman: Part II for October 1, 2027.
