NEON continues to release promotional material for the marketing campaign designed for its most recent horror project, Longlegs of Osgood Perkinsalso know as Oz Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter).
The most recent is a new red poster, which is accompanied by the slogan “the scariest movie of the decade,” and critics are agreeing with that marketing line. Soon the audience will discover for themselves how much of this is true, as the film will hit theaters on July 12.
This is one of the most anticipated genre film releases of 2024, thanks mainly to great promotion from NEON, and the anticipation of seeing Monroe and Cage together on screen, two actors who have been involved in numerous audience-favorite horror film projects. Monroe has starred It Follows –who has the sequel underway They Follow–, The Guest, Significant Otherand more recently, Watcher. For his part, we remember Cage for Renfield, Pig, y Mandy.
Longlegs is a horror thriller starring Nice Monroe y Nicolas Cageas an FBI agent, and a serial killer, respectively.
People say that Longlegs it is “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers.”
SYNOPSIS:
“FBI agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is assigned to a serial killer case that takes unexpected turns, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he attacks again.
Alicia Witt (Urban Legend, I Care a Lot), Blair Underwood (Origin, American Crime Story), Vanessa Walsh (Murdaugh Murders: The Movie) y Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) complete the cast.
The film received the Rated R by the MPA for:
“Bloody violence, disturbing images and some language.”
Perkins filmed in Vancouver in 2023, and had a screening on the European Film Market (EFM) where it was acquired by NEON.
The producers are Cage with his production company Saturn Films, Dan Kagan, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan, and Chris Ferguson.
NEON will premiere Longlegs in theaters July 12, 2024.
