Peacock has released the first trailer for a new horror anthology series from legendary filmmaker John Carpenter titled Suburban Screams. Until the season of horror projects, and this one will feature six terrifying stories to welcome the spirit of the Halloween season. The series is described as
“a genre-busting unscripted horror anthology series, From the mind of legendary director, screenwriter and producer John Carpenter“. The series explores the dark secrets and unspeakable evil that sometimes lurks beneath the surface of the sunny streets, manicured gardens and friendly neighbors of the suburbs.
Each episode focuses on a true horror story, told by the people who lived it.. His first-hand accounts come to life through premium cinematic scenes, news clips, home photos and archival footage, combining the visual language of horror films with the tools and techniques of documentaries, creating a uniquely terrifying experience for viewers.”
It is explained that “every episode will delve into the monstrous evil that lurks beneath the surface of friendly suburbia through the lens of a spooky story. In addition to first-hand accounts, episodes will include film reenactments, personal archives and historical press coverage of the city.”
In fact, Carpenter has directed one of the six episodes along with series director Jordan Roberts, Michelle Latimer and Jan Pavlacky. Carpenter also composes the series’ theme music.
