In August 2021, 20th Century Studios announced to have a new project in the franchise underway. Predator; an officially titled prequel Prey -previously titled Skull– which today confirms, through a teaser trailer available at the end of the article, that will premiere on August 5, 2022 on Hulu in the U.S.

The prequel is directed by Dan Trachtenbergwho made his feature directorial debut with the fine thriller 10 Cloverfield Lanefrom the Cloverfield universe, some of the highlights of the latest installment:
- The movie is a origin story about the first trip Predator to this planet.
- The argument will have female lead, a heroineinstead of a hero.
- The goal of the producers and filmmaker is to return to the roots of the original installment starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, with a strong female lead.
Amber Midthunder (Legion) stars in the film playing a Comanche woman who goes against gender norms and traditionsto become a warrior.
Set on the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, Prey is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters to roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect the people from it. The prey she stalks and ultimately faces turns out to be a highly evolved predatory alien with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a cruel and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
Trachtenberg directs from the script written by Patrick Aison (Jack Ryan, Treadstone). John Davis (The Predator, Jungle Cruise) y Jhane Myers (Monsters of God), are the producers. Executive producers include Lawrence Gordon (Watchmen), Marty Ewing (IT: Chapter Two), James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas, y Marc Toberoff (Fantasy Island).

The filmmakers were committed to creating a film that offered an accurate portrayal of the Comanches and provided a level of authenticity that rings true to their indigenous people.. Myers, an acclaimed filmmaker, Sundance Fellow, and member of the Comanche Nation, is known for her care and dedication to films surrounding the Comanche and Blackfeet Nation, and her passion for honoring the legacies of Native communities. .
As a result, the film features a cast made up almost entirely of Native and First Nations talent, included Amber Midthunder (The Ice Road, Roswell, New Mexico), the newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), michelle thrush (The Journey Home), Julian Black Antelope (Tribal).
