Amazon MGM Studios released the first full trailer for the psychosexual psychological thriller this morning Veritywhich adapts the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover.
The film stars Anne Hathaway (The Odyssey), Dakota Johnson (Materialists) y Josh Hartnett (Trap), and is titled Verity: The shadow of a deception in our region.

Johnson plays Lowen Ashleigh, a financially struggling novelist who is hired as a ghostwriter to finish bestselling author Verity Crawford's (Hathaway) latest book after an accident leaves her unable to complete it.
While Lowen works on the project, he discovers a disturbing unfinished autobiographical manuscript that raises questions about the mental stability of Verity, who writes twisted confessions about her husband, Jeremy (Hartnett). Lowen soon finds it difficult to distinguish between fiction and reality.
This is Hoover's fourth novel to be adapted to film in the last two years, following the releases of It Ends With Us, Reminders of Himy Regretting You. Verity is described in the line Rebecca y Gone Girl.
Michael Showalter (The Idea of You, serie The Dropout) directs the script written by Nick Antosca (Channel Zero, The Act).
The rest of the cast includes Ismael Cruz Cordova (The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power), Brady Wagner, Asel Swango (Power Book II: Ghost), Daniel Echevarria (Daredevil: Born Again) y Michael Abbott Jr. (The Drama).
Producers are Antosca and Alex Hedlund of Eat the Cat, Showalter and Jordana Mollick of Semi-Formal Productions, Hathaway of Somewhere Pictures, Hoover and Shiny Penny Staey Sher of Heartbones Entertainment. Johnson executive produces alongside Lauren Levine.
Hoover's novel was published independently in 2018 and became a bestselling phenomenon, later acquired in 2021 by Grand Central Publishing. In 2023 alone it sold more than a million copies.
By the way, this is one of five Hathaway film projects for 2026. In April she released the psychosexual thriller, Mother Mary by David Lowery and A24; in May the sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2; right now we see it in The Odyssey by Christopher Nolan; This week the science fiction mystery premieres The End of Oak Street by David Robert Mitchell; and finally Verity October 2.
The devil works hard, but Anne Hathaway works harder.
Sony Pictures will be in charge of distribution throughout Latin America.
