Johnson talks to The Atlantic about making the sequel, admitting that while he tried to make it a solo story with Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) regrets that it has kept the “Knives Out” from the first film in its title.

Added Johnson: “I get it, and I want everyone who liked the first movie to know that this is the next in the series, but also, the whole draw to me is that it’s a new novel available every time. But there is a gravity of a thousand suns toward serialized storytelling.”
