The horror franchise Fear Street, known as The street of terror in our market, has just announced more projects underway.

The author of the horror saga, R.L. Stineannounced the news confirming that they are three new films are in development at Netflix.

Stine told THR:

“The writers are working. So I have my fingers crossed.”

The information was shared with THR during the promotion of Goosebumps: The Vanishing, with release set on Disney+ for January 10.

Stine is a writer known for his horror novels aimed at a young audience. In addition to Fear Streethe is recognized for his collection Goosebumps.

The three new installments in development follow in the footsteps of Netflix's successful 2021 trilogy, directed by Leigh Janiak, and the fourth film Fear Street: Prom Queenwith a premiere set for this year 2025 on Netflix. Prom Queen does not include characters from the 2021 trilogy, and is based on the novel The Prom Queenpublished in 1992.

The original youth horror saga was first published in 1989 under the title The New Girlwith 51 books in total. By 2010, it had sold more than 80 million copies. In 2014, Stine published more than 100 spin-off titles.

With a slasher and supernatural horror setting, Fear Street centers on a group of teenagers living in the fictional town of Shadyside who encounter evil and murderous entities and adversaries. Its older characters and their deadly encounters have historically distinguished it from Goosebumps.

When the outlet asked him which of his works he would like to see adapted, Stine confessed that it is a book that no one is interested in:

“A Goosebumps book that no one likes and no one cares about: Brain Juice. These are children who drink this purple liquid and become increasingly intelligent. They become too smart for everything. They get expelled from school, lose all their friends, and then they get kidnapped by aliens and, on the way to the other planet, they become more and more stupid. It's my favorite Goosebumps book, but no one knows and it will never be adapted.
