Robert Pattinson in new look at A24's 'Primetime'

Robert Pattinson steps into the shoes of Chris Hansen, the iconic TV show host, To Catch a Predatorin the dramatic thriller Primetimefrom the director Lance Oppenheim and the indie studio A24.

The plot is set in 2006a year that marked an important chapter for the program To Catch a Predatorwhich followed Hansen and a camera crew as they attempted to catch pedophiles in complex sting operations. The show aired from 2004 to 2007 on NBC, and despite only having aired 20 episodes, it was so popular that it continues to be a cultural reference in television history and investigative journalism.

One of the most notorious cases occurred in 2006, when Kaufman County Deputy District Attorney Bill Conradt committed suicide at his Texas residence when law enforcement officers and an NBC camera crew burst into his home as part of an investigation into the show. Conradt's case was part of a four-day undercover operation in Murphy, Texas, that resulted in the capture of 25 men. The operation generated a strong negative reaction from local residents, and the Collin County prosecutor's office declined to prosecute those arrested.

Pattinson is accompanied by a cast that includes Merritt Wever (Severance, Unbelievable), Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza), Phoebe Bridgers (I Saw the TV Glow), Sean Bridgers (Room), y Matthew Maher (Outer Range).

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

“In 2006, Chris Hansen, host of 'To Catch a Predator,' sets out to make television history, taking on a criminal underworld and changing television forever.”

The script was written by Ajon Singh.

Producers are Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger, Robert Pattinson, Brighton McCloskey, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone. Range Media, Icki Eneo Arlo, and Square Peg are the production companies.

This is one of four Pattinson film projects in 2026; in April it premiered The Dramaright now it is still playing in some cities with The Odyssey y Primetimeand will close the year in December with the launch of Dune: Part Three.

Primetime is now available in US theaters. At the moment there is no confirmed release date nor a distributor announced for its release in theaters in Mexico.
