During his time at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, Lionsgate y Twisted Pictures shared with those present some news about the new chapter of the horror franchise SAWthe tenth film, which bears the official title SAW X.

First, the companies confirmed a advance in its release date in theaters, going from October 27 to September 29a month earlier (via Deadline).

Later, they revealed details about the plot of the film that has the returns of Tobin Bell y Shawnee Smith, reprising their roles as John Kramer and Amanda Young, Kramer’s victim in the original 2004 film, who was later revealed to be an apprentice killer, known for forcing captives to play deadly games, before meeting her end in Saw III.

“John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back, and it’s the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s final games. Set between the events of Saw I and II, John, sick and desperate, travels to Mexico to undergo a risky and experimental medical procedure in the hope of a miracle cure for his cancer., only to discover that the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. The infamous serial killer is back at work for him, turning the tables on con artists in his trademark visceral way through devious, deranged and cunning traps.”

Finally, they presented the first official look at Bell’s return to the saga:

Kevin Greutert directs SAW X from the script of Peter Goldfinger y Josh Stolberg. The director took over the aftermath SAW VI (2009) y Saw: The Final Chapter (2010), and was editor of SAW a SAW Vy Jigsaw.

Mark Burg and Oren Koules are the producers.

The rest of the cast is made up of Renata Vaca (Midnight Family), Paulette Hernandez (Crown of Tears), Joshua Okamoto (Control Z), Octavio Hinojosa (Come Play With Me), Eyewitness Macody Lund (Ragnarok), Steven Brand (The Sandman), y Michael Beach (Dahmer).
