Stroke of Luck: Trailer

Statements by Woody Allen and Lou de Laâge

I think luck and chance play a much bigger role than people are willing to admit: they like to think that if they work hard, if they apply themselves and are disciplined, they can control their lives. But that’s only half the truth, even though it’s a potentially disconcerting idea.”. – Woody Allen

When I received the script, it came with a note saying that Woody was offering me the part, but if I didn’t like it, I was free to turn it down. That kind of elegance is not very common… I knew that Woody Allen was a director who offered important roles to actresses. And he has met all my expectations. I was immensely lucky to receive a script that was both deep and joyful.”. – Lou de Laage
