Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
1 pinch of salt
1 egg
1 cup of milk
Frying oil
Sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling (optional)
Directions
- In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, sugar, baking powder and pinch of salt.
- In another bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk, mixing well.
- Gradually add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
- Heat oil in a pan deep enough to fry the dumplings.
- With the hot oil, use two spoons to pick up small pieces of dough and carefully place them in the hot oil.
- Fry the dumplings until golden brown on all sides.
- Remove the fried dumplings with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate with absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
- If desired, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over the still warm muffins.
- Serve the rain cookies plain and enjoy them while they are warm and delicious!
