Sydney Sweeney He already has his next film project secured.
The actress will be the protagonist of Hollowa reimagining of the history of Sleepy Hollowbased on the debut novel by Lindsey Anderson Beer. The news revealed by Deadline also confirms that Sony Pictures acquired the rights to produce the adaptation.
Beer will direct, produce and write the script for the feature film. The novel will be published in the fall of 2027 by Putnam Publishing. Sweeney will take on the lead role as Katrina Van Tassel.
Margot Robbie's LuckyChap and Sweeney's Honey Trap will also produce.
Hollow is the first film that Honey Trap will produce. The recently created company, with Kaylee McGregor as president of production and development, recently signed a first-look deal with Sony Pictures.
The media explains that “Sony acted quickly and forcefully to snatch the project from the competition.”
Beer's novel is a reinterpretation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, told from the perspective of Katrina Van Tassel. Reinterpreting one of literature's most iconic heroines, the novel presents Van Tassel not as a romantic trophy, but as the central figure in a dangerous mystery and a seductive supernatural love triangle. The story combines gothic atmosphere, psychological intrigue and erotic thriller elements in a contemporary and conceptual reinvention.
The studio is looking for the actors who will play the other two members of the love triangle: Brom Bones and Ichabod Crane.
Alexandra Banks and Spencer Walken will executive produce Beer's Lab Brew.
Beer wrote and directed Pet Sematary: Bloodlines (2023), and wrote and executive produced Sierra Burgees is a Loser (2018).
