Lionsgate continues to prepare audiences for the tenth hunger games, with a new teaser trailer for the prequel to the saga The Hunger Gamestitled The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

The sneak peek, which you find at the bottom of this note, is presented as a promo for the 10th Hunger Games.

The prequel is by the filmmaker Francis Lawrencedirector of the last three installments of The Hunger Gamesstarting with Catching Fire (2013), Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014), y Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015). Lawrence has also directed music videos for stars Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé.

The film, based on the book of the same name, was launched in 2019 by Lionsgate, with Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) y Tom Blythe (Billy the Kid) in leading roles; she plays Lucy Gray Baird, while he plays a young version of Coriolanus Snow, played in the blockbuster saga by Donald Sutherland.

The plot is set years before the time of Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen. It’s the 10th annual Hunger Games in Panemand 18-year-old Coriolanus is assigned to mentor Lucy, the female tribute from District 12 who wins the heart of the country of Panem when she sings defiantly during the harvest ceremony.

The rest of the cast is made up of Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) as Casca Highbottom the unwitting creator of The Hunger Games; Josh Andres Rivera (West Side Story) as Sejanus Plinth, Snow’s friend; Hunter Schafer (Euphoria) as Tigris; Jason Schwartzman (Fargo) as Lucretius “Lucky” Flickerman, ancestor of Caesar Flickerman; Jerome Lance as Marcus, a tribute from District 2; Ashley Liao as the mentor Clemensia Dovecote; Knox Gibson as Bobbin the District 8 tribute; Mackenzie Lansing as Coral the District 4 tribute; Aamer Hussain like another mentor; Felix Ravinstill as a tribute from District 11; and the Oscar winner Viola Davis as Volumnia Gaul.

Lionsgate set the theatrical release of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes for on November 17, 2023. In Mexico it will be distributed by Corazón Films under the title The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
