“A lonely Frankenstein travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the help of Dr. Euphronius to create a companion. The two revitalize a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She goes further than either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police, and a wild, radical social movement.”

Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Talia Kleinhendler, and Osnat Handelsman-Keren produce alongside Gyllenhaal.

The original 1935 film, from director James Whale, “centers on Dr. Frankenstein (Colin Clive) who after recovering from injuries sustained during the mob attack on him and his creation, falls under the control of his former mentor. , Dr. Pretorius (Ernest Thesiger), who insists that the now chastened doctor resume his experiments in creating new life. Meanwhile, the Monster (Boris Karloff) continues to flee from those who wish to destroy him without understanding that his intentions are generally good despite his lack of socialization and self-control.

In recent times, several plans have been considered to launch a remake of Bride of Frankenstein. We remember Universal Pictures' failed Dark Universe, and Bride from A24 and Apple, with Scarlett Johansson, about which there has been no further news. On the other hand, Guillermo del Toro is working on a project about Frankenstein at home on Netflix.

WB will premiere The Bride! in theaters October 3, 2025, including IMAX screenings.
