The neo-horror thriller, Nightbitch of Annapurna Pictures and Bond Group of and the protagonist and producer Amy Adamshas set its theatrical release.

Searchlight Pictures announced that Nightbitch will be launching on the big screen on December 6, 2024.

  • Initially it had been said that the film would be released on Hulu, but Searchlight Pictures' plans have changed and it has been decided to release it in theaters.

The project acquired by Searchlight in May 2022 is based on the novel of the same name by Rachel Yoderwho was in charge of adapting the script of the feature film that is directed by Marielle Heller (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Can You Ever Forgive Me?).


“Nightbitch tells the story of a woman thrown into the routine of staying home to raise a young child in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the wild power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the strange and undeniable signs that it may be turning into a canine.”

The cast is headed by Adams, Scoot McNairy (C'Mon, C'Mon, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Narcos: México) playing Adams' husband, and Mary Holland (Happiest Season).

The MPA (Motion Picture Association) awarded Nightbitch the Rated R due to:

“Language and some sexuality.”

Adams and Stacy O'Neil produce via Bond Group, alongside Heller with Defiant By Nature, Archer Gray's Anne Carey (20th Century Women), Ellison de Annapurna (Booksmart), Christina Oh (to the pain), Adam Paulsen (Pig), and Sue Naegle. Sammy Scher, Havilah Brewster are executive producers.

  • Heller and producer Carey previously collaborated on Can You Ever Forgive Me?, y The Diary of a Teenage Girl. The first of them is a Searchlight Pictures production.
