Peacock applied the guillotine to the spy thriller series The Copenhagen Testafter the broadcast of the first season, according to reports from Variety.

The television production created by Thomas Brandon (Legacies) and executive produced by James Wanwas starred by Simu Liu (Barbie, Shang-Chi) as Alexander Hale, a first-generation Chinese-American intelligence analyst, who realizes that his brain has been hacked, giving the perpetrators access to everything he sees and hears. The co-star, Melissa Barrera (Scream 6, Abigail), played Michelle, a deceptive character.

The first and only season had 8 episodes, all released simultaneously on December 27, 2025.

The series received mostly positive reviews, however, it failed to reach a large audience. According to data from Nielsen, the series accumulated 373 million minutes of viewing during the week of December 29 to January 4, enough to reach the number 10 position on Nielsen's list of the 10 most watched original series in streaming. In the following weeks, it fell out of the Top 10.

Other cast members include Sinclair Daniel (Insidious: The Red Door), Brian D’Arcy James (Spotlight), Mark O’Brien (Perry Mason), Kathleen Chalfant (The Affair), Marnie McPhail (Trap), Sarah Amini (CSI: Las Vegas), y Adam Godley (The Great).

Brandon, in addition to creating the series, was the screenwriter, executive producer and co-showrunner, sharing this last work with Jennifer Yale.

Other executive producers include Michael Clear, Rob Hackett, Liu, Mark Winemaker, and Jet Wilkinson. UCP was the study.
