The popular series Cobra Kaisequel to the film classic The Karate Kidcontinues to prepare the audience for the premiere of its sixth and final season. Netflix announced this morning through a teaser that the final season will be split into a three-part event with 15 episodes in total.

The release dates are as follows:

  • Part 1: July 18, 2024
  • Part 2: November 28, 2024
  • Part 3: 2025

The season starts with Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley competition as the senseis and students decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai, the world karate championship, according to the official description.

The cast is headed by Ralph Macchio, William ZabkaMartin Kovey Yuju Okumotoreprising their roles from the film franchise The Karate Kid. Xolo Maridueña, Jacob Bertrand, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List, Gianni DeCenzo, Courtney Henggeler, Vanessa Rubio, Dallas Dupree Young, Alicia Hannah-Kim, Griffin Santopietroy Oona O'Brien They complete the distribution.

Josh Heald is the showrunner, writer and executive producer of Cobra Kai, with Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, Will Smith, James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett, Susan Ekins, Macchio and Zabka serving as executive producers.

In an interview with Collider in 2023, Heald talked about creating space for possible spinoffs of Cobra Kai:

“We'll never give real closure when it comes to anything. We love working in the Cobra Kai universe, so there's always the possibility of revisiting that world. We're certainly thinking about other ideas within the Miyagi-verse, and It's only a matter of time before we find out exactly which direction we're going to head in. […] We are very excited about season 6 of Cobra Kai. We will say goodbye with everything and it will be an incredible experience for fans of the franchise.”
