In addition to postponing the premiere of seeing Dune: Part Twothe Warner Bros. and Legendary studios have also postponed the release of other of their high-profile productions: Godzilla x Kong: The New Empirethe fifth and most recent installment of the MonsterVerse.

The change is part of a ripple effect on the WB schedule. By postponing Dune 2this took the date previously scheduled for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, so the study set him a new release date for the MonsterVerse sequel: April 12, 2024 (via Deadline).

That date was previously reserved for the animated film. Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim of New Line and WB, which was postponed to December 13, 2024.

The outlet reports that WB is not expected to make changes to its December 2023 release schedule. Wonka (December 15), Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (December 20) and The Color Purple (December 25th). These three productions are expected to keep their release dates.

The MonsterVerse is made up of Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: The King of the Monsters (2019), y Godzilla vs Kong (2020). The MonsterVerse has proven to be a commercial success for the studios. So far, his four films have accumulated a total of $1.946 million dollars in the global box office.
