Warner Bros. and Legendary have a new installment of the MonsterVersethe titled Godzilla x Kong: The New Empireor as it is known in our market, Godzilla and Kong: The New Empirewhose marketing campaign is still in active mode.

The latest promotional material features three official images shared by Total Film, focusing on the characters played by Rebecca Hallback as Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henryback as Bernie Hayes, and the new addition to the saga, Dan Stevens (The Guest, Gaslit, The Rental) playing Trapper.

The actor tells the media about his character:

“[Mi personaje es] a specialist in these creatures… If you have a sick titan, Trap is your man.”

The New Empire reveals a new threat to humanity, which will cause both kaiju kings, Godzilla and Kong, to unite to face Scar King, the fearsome red Kong.

This is the fifth installment of the MonsterVerse, which is made up of Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: The King of the Monsters (2019), y Godzilla vs Kong (2021). The Apple TV+ series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters It takes place within the timeline of this universe.

The movie was directed by Adam Wingardwho is back as director after directing the predecessor, GvK. Filming took place in Australia.

The cast also features the return of Kaylee Hottle (Godzilla v Kong) and new members Speak Chen (Irma Vep, Shang-Chi) y Rachel House.

This is a direct sequel to GvK. The climax of the latter suggests that there is a lot of material yet to be explored, such as seeing Kong in Hollow Earth.

SYNOPSIS:

The script was written by Simon Barrett (You’re Next, The Guest).

The MonsterVerse has proven to be a commercial success for studios. To date, his four films have accumulated a total of $1,946 million in the global box office.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will be released in theaters April 12, 2024.
