He MonsterVerse from Warner Bros. and Legendary studios, is preparing for its next installment, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empirewhich has released its first official poster, and the art looks spectacular.
The poster, which you find at the end of this note, focuses on King Kong, in an image centered on his handprint in red, and his face inside it in the same tone. It is accompanied by the slogan “Bow to your new king” (Bow down to your new king).
This is the fifth installment of the MonsterVerse, which is made up of Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: The King of the Monsters (2019), y Godzilla vs Kong (2021). Right now, Apple TV+ is broadcasting the series Monarch: Legacy of Monsterswhich takes place within the MonsterVerse timeline.
The movie was directed by Adam Wingardwho is back behind the lens after having directed the predecessor, GvK. Filming took place in Australia.
The cast features the return of Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry y Kaylee Hottlereprising the roles played in GvKand new members such as Dan Stevens (The Guest, Gaslit, The Rental), Speak Chen (Irma Vep, Shang-Chi) y Rachel House.
This will be a direct sequel to GvK. The climax of the latter suggests that there is a lot of material yet to be explored, such as seeing Kong in Hollow Earth.

The script was written by Simon Barrett (You’re Next, The Guest).
The MonsterVerse has proven to be a commercial success for studios. To date, his four films have accumulated a total of $1,946 million in the global box office.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will be released in theaters April 12, 2024.
