Alien Day or Alien Day is celebrated every April 26, and this 2023 celebration adds something special to it, as it coincides with the filming of a new installment of the science fiction saga, Aliende 20th Century Studios, Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead) as co-writer and director, and with Ridley Scott back, in the capacity of producer.

It is from the same filming set that Álvarez shares a funny image of the clapperboard surrounded by the famous “Facehugger” of the franchise and the phrase Happy Alien Day to his followers on Twitter. The publication is found at the end of the note.

Meanwhile we tell you that the filming is being carried out under the provisional title Alien: Romuluscon Cailee Spaeny (The Craft: Legacy, Mare of Easttown, Devs) in a leading role, with Isabela Merced (Instant Family, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Sweet Girl), David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearny Aileen Wu.

The project is described as “an original independent feature film”, which is expected to include the appearance of the alien Xenomorphs. The film will be a reboot of the science fiction and horror franchise.

Álvarez co-wrote the script with his frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (remake Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe, Don’t Breathe 2remake Texas Chainsaw Massacre).

It was previously reported that the president of the 20th Century division, Steve Asbell, considered that the strong presentation that Álvarez gave about his vision for the new installment: “It was a really good story with a lot of characters you hadn’t seen before”.

Ridley Scott directed the original 1979 classic, later returning to direct the prequels Prometheusy Alien: Covenant. He now supports himself as a producer with his company Scott Free. Michael A. Pruss is another of the producers, with Elizabeth Cantillon, Tom Moran, Brent O’Connor serving as executive producers.

The franchise currently consists of eight feature films.
