It’s been a while with no news about the reboot of the classic board game CLUE from Hasbro that was launched in August 2016 by 20th Century Studiosuntil now that the Deadline medium reports that the project advances its development signing the services of a new scriptwriter.

Is about Ears Uziel (The Lost City, Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, The Cloverfield Paradox, 22 Jump Street) has been hired by the studio to do a “major rework” of the current first draft that was written by Rhett Reese y Paul Wernick (Zombieland, Deadpool).

James Bobin (The Muppets, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Dora and the Lost City of Golf), took the director’s chair since February 2020. While a couple of years earlier, in 2018, it was announced that the remake will star and be produced by Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool).

Reynolds will produce with his company Maximum Effort, expanding his collaboration with the studio, with which he has a productive working relationship since the franchise. Deadpool.

The popular board game had its first live-action adaptation for the big screen in 1985, with the comedy turned into a cult classic, directed by Jonathan Lynn, and starring a great cast, including Tim Curry, Christopher Llyod, Eileen Brennan, Madeline Kahn, and Michael McKean.

The film is based on Hasbro’s famous board game from 1949. the remake of Clue will have no connection to the 1985 cult classic. At the moment there is no information about the character that will be played by Reynolds.
