One month after its theatrical release, the rom-com Anyone but You from Sony Pictures celebrates having surpassed $100 million dollars in the global box office.

The director's romantic comedy Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends with Benefits), and the protagonists Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria) y Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick), has come from less to more. After a poor premiere and mixed reviews, the film has been increasing its income week by week.

The one known as With everyone except you In our market it currently collects $64.2 million dollars at the national box office (USA, Canada), while at the international box office it accumulates $36 million dollars, for a global total of $100.2 million dollars. Its budget was $25 million, so the film is already classified as one of the most profitable of 2023.

It is a great triumph for the rom-com genre, which in recent years has been relegated to exclusive streaming release projects. In addition, it sends a clear message to the studios about the profitability of the genre.

The film has been described as a slight modernization of “Much Ado About Nothing” by William Shakespeare. Curiously, despite being a film of a genre generally associated with a PG-13 rating, the MPA gave Anyone But You an R Rating.
