The screenwriter of 'Hocus Pocus 3' talks about the development of the sequel – Cine3.com

Last June, Disney announced that it had launched, Hocus Pocus 3the new sequel to the franchise Hocus Pocus. It is then that Hocus Pocus 3 was launched, whose development encountered a setback with the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike, which fortunately for all members of the union, concluded in recent weeks, and the writers have been able to resume their work. Including Jen D'Angeloscreenwriter of the second installment, who returns to script the third film.

D'Angelo tells EW that he is working on the new story of the Sanderson sisters, thinking about being able to count again with the return of Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson, the classic characters played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker y Kathy Najimyrespectively.

“We're still in the story phase, we're still working on it. We've been working on some ideas, and it's been fun to dive back into that world and we have so many directions to go and so many new characters to explore.”

The outlet asks if the sorceress played by Waddingham is the same “mother” that the Sanderson Sisters refer to in the original 1993 film, D'Angelo confirms:

“I think she is that mother, that she is the mother of the scorpion cake and that they had a much more meaningful relationship with her than we haven't seen yet. But maybe we will.”
