The final season of Stranger Things is currently on hiatus due to the strike by the Writers Guild (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA), who are fighting for fair deals with Hollywood studios and streamers.

Last May and prior to the start of the WGA strike, the co-creators of the series, the Duffer Brothersannounced that they had begun writing the script for the final season, but that they would not start filming until the strike ended: “We hope that a fair agreement is reached soon so that we can all return to work. Until then, over and out.”

Things got a little more complicated with the SAG strike that went into effect on July 14, 2023, marking the first time in 60 years that both unions were on strike at the same time.
