HBO Max debuted this morning the official full trailer for Stuart Fails to Save the Universea new spinoff of the popular sitcom The Big Bang Theoryand the fourth series of the television franchise, after the original series TBBT (2007-2019), the prequel Young Sheldon (2017-2024), and the most recent prequel Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage (2024-present).

The new spinoff, titled Stuart fails to save the universe in our region, it comes seven years after the end of The Big Bang Theoryand it stars Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkusy John Ross Bowiein their returns as Stuart Bloom, Bert, Denise, and Barry Kripke, respectively.

The preview gives away the returns of other familiar faces, such as Christine Baranski, Riki Lindhome, y Tellerreprising her roles as Beverly Hofstadter, Leonard's mother; Ramona Nowitzki, Sheldon's fan; and Larry Fowler, Amy's dad.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is set in the futureafter the events of Big Bang. In it, Stuart Bloom (Sussman), owner of a comic book store, has the mission to restore reality after breaking a device built by Sheldon and Leonardaccidentally causing a multiversal Armageddon – the aforementioned artifact is something Sheldon and Leonard worked on after the end of the original series.

Stuart is aided by his girlfriend Denise (Lapkus), his geologist friend Bert (Posehn), and troubled quantum physicist Barry Kripke (Bowie). Along the way, they encounter alternate universe versions of characters we know and love from before. The Big Bang Theory. As the title indicates, things don't go well.

Chuck Lorreco-creator and executive producer of The Big Bang Theoryis the co-creator and screenwriter of the spinoff. Lorre developed it together with James Penn y Bill Prady. All three are executive producers.

Last July, Lorre preferred not to say if we would see Jim Parsons y Johnny Galecki appearing on spniff, saying: “I can't talk about that. It's very confidential information that, as you know… I've sworn to remain silent about.”

Chuck Lorre Productions produces it with Warner Bros. Television.

HBO Max will premiere the first episode on Thursday, July 23 at 9pm ET (7pm CDMX), with a new episode every week. The first season consists of 10 episodes.
