The chances of being swallowed alive by a whale are low, but never zero.

20th Century Studios debuted on first trailer of the adventure thriller, Whalefallan adaptation of the novel by Daniel Krauswhich takes us straight to the stomach of a whale.

The fall of the whaleby its title in our region, is described as a mix between The Martian y 127 Hours, and centers on a diver searching for the remains of his deceased father. During his search, the diver is engulfed by a 24-meter, 60-ton sperm whale, and has only one hour to escape before his oxygen runs out. Having lost all hope, the young man is surprised to find a reason to live in the most dangerous and unexpected place.

The film stars Austin Abrams (Weapons, Resident Evil), Josh Brolin (Weapons, Dune), Elisabeth Shue (The Boys, Greyhound), John Ortiz (Nobody 2, Bad Monkey), Jane Levy (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe), Emily Rudd (One Piece, saga Fear Street), y Mark Meloro Jr.

Brian Duffield (No One Will Save You, Spontaneous) directs the script he co-wrote with Kraus.

Duffield approached Kraus after learning the premise of the author's novel, about acquiring the rights to a film adaptation. The approach was through DM on Twitter.

Later, Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment company joined the project as a producer.

The producers are Howard, Brian Grazer, Brian Duffield, Jeb Brody, and Allan Mandelbaum. Executive producers include Richard Abate, Douglas C. Meffifield, and Will Rowbotham.

20th Century Studios will release it in theaters on October 15 in Latin Americaand the October 16 in the United States and Canada.
