NEONthe studio that this year has released horror projects such as Immaculate y Longlegsannounced Tuesday morning that it had acquired the distribution rights to Shelby Oakswritten and directed by Chris Stuckmanna YouTuber widely known to horror movie fans for his channel on the platform.
Shelby Oaks es described as a cross between found footage and documentaryand marks Stuckmann's feature film directorial debut.
NEON will celebrate the world premiere at the Fantasia Festival on Saturday, July 20, 2024. It will then be released in US cinemas and will handle international sales to find distribution in other markets.
Camille Sullivan (Hunter Hunter), Brendan Sexton III (Don’t Breathe 2), y Sarah Durn (Where the Crawdads Sing) lead the cast.
SYNOPSIS:
“It follows a woman named Mia (Sullivan) as she frantically searches for her sister Riley (Durn), who sinisterly disappeared in the final film of her investigative series, ‘Paranormal Paranoids’.”

Stuckmann launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2022 to raise funds for the film, raising $1.4 million in less than a month, making it the most-funded horror film in Kickstarter history.
The filmmaker is known, as we mentioned, for his YouTube channel, where he publishes reviews of movies, video games, television, and anime. At the end of this note we share the video with which he celebrated the acquisition of NEON.
Stuckmann produced the feature with Aaron B. Koontz, Ashleigh Snead, and Cameron Burns for Paper Street Pictures. Executive producers include Trevor Macy and Melinda Nishioka of Intrepid Pictures, with Mike Flanagan, Adam F. Goldberg, Paul Holbrook, Sean E. DeMott, and Tony Killough.
Last weekend, NEON made history with the release of Longlegs from Osgood Perkins, which broke the record as the highest-grossing release for the distribution company. Other NEON releases in the coming months include Cuckoo by Tilman Singer, the winner of the Palme d'Or Anora by Sean Baker. He has already acquired other projects such as The Monkey y Keeper PerkinsThe Seed of the Sacred Fig de Mohammad Rasoulof, Alpha by Julia Ducournau, and The Unknown de Arthur Harari.
