Scary Movie is officially back.
Paramount Pictures revealed the first trailer of Scary Movie 6the new sequel to the popular saga the wayans brothers.
The trailer, which premiered during the previews shown at the screenings of Scream 7includes the return of many well-known faces from the saga, such as the case of Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall, Anna Faris, Lochlyn Monroe, Dave Sheridan, Jon Abrahams, Cheri Oteri y Chris Elliott.
While the project has been referred to as Scary Movie 6 From the moment of its conception, the marketing released today reveals that it is adopting the formula of many other horror franchises that have had a relaunch and will not use the numeral in the title, going to simply be called Scary Movie.
It is the first film in the saga in thirteen years, so it has a lot of material to make fun of, something of which we have a taste of in the trailer, which presents parodies of its main inspiration: Screamy I Know What You Did Last Summerin addition to Halloween, Friday the 13th, Terrifier, M3GAN, Wednesday, Get Out, Ma, The Substance, Longlegs, Weaponsand more.
The trailer also seems to suggest that the film will poke fun at politics and “woke” culture, with one character correcting another on their pronouns while being stabbed and a catchphrase promising “all lines will be crossed”.
LOOK AT THE DATA: In the case of Scream 7which opened in theaters over the weekend, could be the first time a movie premieres on the big screen with a trailer for another movie that pokes fun at its franchise.

Cast members new to the saga include Damon Wayans Jr. (New Girl), Kim Wayans (In Living Color), Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Savannah Lee Nassif, Cameron Scott Roberts, Sydney Park, Gregg Wayans, Ruby Snowbery Benny Zielke.
The saga, created and developed by the brothers Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans y Bring on Ivory Wayansdoes satire of popular horror films. The original film was released in 2000, a few years after the slashers were released. Scream y I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Scary Movie 6 mark the first reunion of the Wayans brothers on a franchise project in 18 years.
Keenen Ivory was the director of the first two installments, while Marlon and Shawn were screenwriters and stars of the first two installments. The Wayans Brothers did not participate in the next three installments.
Paramount Pictures and Miramax are the studios that support Scary Movie 6. The sequel comes as part of Paramount's first partnership with Miramax, the studio behind the film franchise.
Miramax fully financed the production, and Paramount is handling distribution. Miramax produces with Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Lowey and Thom Zadra serving as executive producers.
The five installments that make up the saga so far have raised more than $896 million dollars worldwide.
Paramount Pictures plans to premiere of Scary Movie in theaters on June 12, 2026.
