NEON brought his most recent horror proposal to CinemaCon 2026 – which is being held right now –, Hokumfrom the screenwriter and director Damian McCarthy (Caveat, Oddity).
On the stage of the most important expo in the film industry, the studio presented a new trailer – not available outside the venue – and a new poster that we share with you at the end of the note.
We remind you that Hokum will be one of many exciting films of the genre hitting theaters in May.
McCarthy's new film delves deep into folkloric horrorwith a story that follows novelist Ohm Bauman (played by Adam Scott of Severance), who retreats to a remote inn to scatter his parents' ashes, where he is consumed by stories of a witch who haunts the bridal suite. Disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance force him to confront the darkest corners of his past.
The poster this time focuses on the character played by Will O’Connell (Game of Thrones), named Alby, about whom there are not many details, beyond knowing that he works at the aforementioned inn.
The cast also includes Peter Coonan (Bad Sisters), David Wilmot (Hamnet), Austin Amelio (When No One See Us), y Florence Ordesh (Foundation).
NEON and Black Bear Pictures produce. is the studio behind horror genre proposals such as Longlegs, Immaculate, Cuckoo, The Monkey, Together, Shelby Oaksand the soon to be released, Passenger.
The film is produced by Roy Lee y Steven Schneiderproducers of Weapons, The Ring, la franquicia ITy Paranormal Activity.
Hokum It celebrated its world premiere at the 2026 SXSW Festival last March.
It premieres in cinemas May 1, 2026.
