Prime Video and MGM+ debuted this morning the final trailer for the long-awaited live-action series, Spider-Blackstarring Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly aka The Spider, in which he marks his first leading role for the small screen.

The series based on the Marvel comic, Spider-Man Black, tells the story of Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), an experienced and failed private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to deal with his past after a deep personal tragedy as the city's only superhero.

Cage's Ben Reilly is described by the streamer as follows:

In his time, Ben Reilly was the superhero known as “The Spider.” After a personal tragedy, he abandoned his heroic alter ego. Only an extraordinary case could force this hapless private investigator to leave behind his role as an everyman and put on the mask again.”

Spider-Man Noir is an alternative version of Spider-Man from a universe set during the 1930s, characterized by its black and white aesthetic, Spider-Man Noir operates in a gritty noir-themed New York City. Unlike the more familiar and colorful Spider-Man, this version is a tough detective who fights crime in a dark and corrupt world, combining superhero elements with classic crime fiction tropes, such as moral ambiguity and a focus on crime drama.

The series will follow that aesthetic, and will be transmitted in two ways: in “True Black and White” and “True-Hue Full Color”and it will be up to the audience to choose the way they want to see it.

That is why all the promotional material shared so far has been available in both versions, including the final trailer.
