The marketing campaign The Social Reckoning of Sony Pictures debuted the first official posters, specifically, character posters, focused on the protagonist trio, Mikey Madison (Anora), Jeremy Strong (Succession), y Jeremy Allen White (The Bear).

This new installment, titled The power of the network in our region, it is described not as a sequel but as “a companion piece” from the acclaimed biopic The Social Network (2010). Aaron Sorkinscreenwriter of the first installment, is the screenwriter and director of this new piece.
For the script, Sorkin was inspired by a series of articles that Jeff Horwitz wrote for The Wall Street Journal, known as The Facebook Files.
Madison plays Frances Haugen, the data engineer turned whistleblower who went to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Wall Street Journal with her information; White is former WSJ tech reporter Jeff Horowitz, who led the leak of the Facebook files; and Strong as Mark Zuckerberg, in a more adult version of the Meta CEO we met in the 2010 film.
the script tells the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White)a Wall Street Journal reporter, to embark on a dangerous journey that ends up revealing the social network's best-kept secrets.
The acclaimed 2010 film focused on the creation of Facebook, now known as Meta.
The Social Reckoning instead, explores the story behind The Wall Street Journal's The Facebook Filesan explosive series of articles published in October 2021 that They exposed the inner workings of the largest social network in the world and multiple damage that this cause. The series of damaging WSJ articles revealed the grisly details of Facebook's inner workings.
Sorkin's script focuses on The company's own reports about Facebook's negative approaches to teens, tweens, violence, and countries outside the United States. As well as the disinformation that proliferates and causes violence, and how it contributed to the attempted coup on January 6, 2021.

The Social Reckoning is produced by Sorkin, Todd Black, Peter Rice, and Stuart Besser.
The 2010 drama, written by Sorkin and directed by David Fincher, inspired by the book by Ben Mezrich, The Accidental Billionairestells us the story of the creation and consolidation of Facebook. Sony Pictures is planning the theatrical release of The Social Reckoning to October 9, 2026.
