“It's okay. They need to hear this.”
This is how it begins official trailer del thriller The Whisper Man of Netflix.
Moments later, what we hear is a chilling rhyme that says: “If you leave a door ajar, soon you will hear whispers. If you leave the window unlocked, you will hear it hitting the glass. If you feel lonely, sad and depressed, the Whispering Man will come for you.”
The thriller stars Oscar winner, Robert De Niro (The Irishman), Michelle Monaghan (The White Lotus), y Adam Scott (Severance).
The film tells the investigation of a serial killer who was believed to have been imprisoned for years. But when children begin to disappear, the nursery rhyme comes to life again, and the retired detective (De Niro) who first arrested the so-called Whispering Man is called back into action.
It is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Alex North. In our region it is titled They whisper your name.
“Son, I'm sorry this had to happen for us to reconcile,” Pete (De Niro) says to his estranged son, Tom (Scott), in the trailer. “We're not together,” Tom replies. “I'm asking you for help.”
Right now, Tom needs a lot of help. His own son, Jake (Acston Luca Porto), has been kidnapped by a ruthless serial killer known as the Whispering Man; Pete, a retired police detective, caught him more than a decade ago. Jake's kidnapping is terrifying in itself, but it's also complicated by a disturbing fact: The Whispering Man, also known as Frank Carter, has been in prison since his capture. He can't be the one committing these crimes…so who is he? Pete is determined to find out, with the help of Detective Amanda Beck (Monaghan).
